Since I was a middle schooler, I’ve been searching for a career I’m passionate about.

- First, I wanted to be a teacher. I loved learning and wanted to share that love of learning with students. However, I have stage fright and the thought of assigning work was torture. Why? Because I have to check the work! This reminds me of homework. I’m not sure if I can do that on the daily.
- I wanted to be a fashion designer. I adore shopping and putting outfits together! During freshman year in college, I was often told how nice my outfits were. This included my hair and makeup. Overtime, my longing to be in the fashion industry diminished due to that love for fashion diminishing. Also, I’m a terrible sketch artist! Dressing up is still my forte however 🙂
- The thought of becoming a teacher came back to me. I went to school for early childhood education. Children need teachers desperately! Now with the COVID going on, being in the classroom on a daily basis is suddenly dangerous. Who would have thought something as serious as the COVID would cause classrooms to become a place where a domino effect can take place? Certainly not me! I loved being in the classroom as a kid and pray that they open back up one day for today’s students. When I say that, I mean open back up free of the threat of COVID 19.
After finishing all my college credits, I moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. I got certified for teaching and was ready to go! Unfortunately, the passion for teaching was never there. I believe that those passionate for giving young people the tools needed to succeed in the real world should take the job. So I went to work at a fast food restaurant for a year and a half.
Today, I’m working full time at a nursing home. It’s hard, but rewarding at the same time. But it’s not my passion.
All this time, my love for writing has never diminished. It continues to linger. Writing has been part for me my entire life. I’m wondering, “what if all this writing I do is there for a reason?” I pray that I will see the day where I get the chance find out 🙃
